Partners to capitalise on demand for ID and passport scanning with new Canon workgroup scanner
LONDON, 15 April 2015: Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions has today launched the new imageFORMULA DR-C240, a high-performance desktop workgroup scanner that helps its partners effectively address customer needs to reliably handle a wide range of documents including passports and identification documents.
The imageFORMULA DR-C240 is quiet to operate, making it suitable for a variety of corporate, back-office and customer-facing environments. These include reception desks at banks, hotels, hospitals and government offices, providing partners with an exceptional value proposition for organisations which are often required to discreetly capture and process various documents including proof of identification.
The compact yet durable and robust imageFORMULA DR-C240 delivers powerful and high-performance scanning with speeds of up to 45ppm/ 90ipm, and handles workloads of up to 4,000 scans per day. With a 60-sheet ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) larger batches can be processed in one go while a heavy duty feeder mechanism, ultrasonic double feed sensor and document feed release(DFR) technology ensures best in class reliability for scanning various document types including ultra-thin paper (from 27gsm) to passports1 up to 4mm thick, removing the need for a separate flatbed scanner.

Canon’s CapturePerfect software enables advanced processing features including automatic batch separation and zonal OCR (Optical Character Recognition). The imageFORMULA DR-C240 also comes with Kofax VRS for enriched image quality and eCopy PDF Pro for powerful PDF creation, editing, and conversion tools.
The imageFORMULA DR-C240 will be available through all Canon sales offices and selected distributors across in Europe from May 2015.
